Reviews for Rempah Rempah Restaurant
Review highlights
Based on 45 reviewsRempah Rempah Restaurant in Bali is widely appreciated for its flavorful Indonesian dishes and attentive, friendly service. Guests frequently highlight the welcoming and helpful staff, contributing to a warm dining experience. The restaurant offers a varied menu with quality seafood and grilled meats, although some patrons note a reduction in the previously extensive Indonesian street food selections in favor of broader Asian influences. The establishment’s ambiance, often enhanced by cultural performances and scenic views, adds to the overall appeal. While food quality remains generally praised, a few reviewers express nostalgia for the earlier, more diverse Indonesian offerings, suggesting a shift in culinary focus over time.
I celebrated my mother-in-law's birthday here and couldn't have asked for more! They were incredibly kind and helpful in arranging the dinner for my family. The staff were generous and incredibly friendly. The food was delicious and offered plenty of options for my vegetarian in-laws. A big thank you to Ms. Nita, Ms. Nonik, and all the staff. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.
Came here for menu tasting and was impressed by the food. Meats / steaks were well cooked, lobster is fresh and big sized. Oxtail soup was savoury. I would imagine the other dishes here are also good.
edit: Their Indonesian street food menu used to be far more plentiful and varied than it is now — pages and pages of eclectic choices. What used to be an astonishing Indonesian cuisine menu has now been seemingly scaled back in favour of integrating “other” Asian cuisines e.g. Chinese and Indian. Additionally, the Indonesian plates I ordered in 2024 weren’t nearly as good as I remember them being in 2022. It was quality food, but the value for money just wasn’t there. I wouldn’t say it was disappointing in absolute terms, but relative to the truly astonishing Indonesian menu they used to have, and the quality of the Indonesian cuisine they used to provide, I was a bit let down. Hence, I’m reducing my rating from 5 to 4 stars.
The food taste very good. Great view. Attentive and friendly staff.
Stayed in the Villas and reserved an evening of rijsttafel accompanied by traditional dance and craft market. The combined dinner and dance was a fantastic way to enjoy some of the cultural flavors of Bali without leaving the property. The restaurant was spacious with table and daybed seating. We received a table with unobstructed views of the performances. We enjoyed a stroll of the nearby craft market offering a wide variety of local handmade products before the dinner started. Our dinner table was decorated with handmade leaf foldings and flanked by 2 fresh coconuts. We received a long tray of local spiced dips and paste to accompany various crackers to open the dinner. The various "rempahs" commonly found in Indonesian and Balinese cuisine was wonderful. We also had Gado Gado and soup made from Banana stems. The main course featured 6 different dishes of meat and vegetables accompanied with steamed rice. A trio of Indonesian desserts closed the dinner on a sweet note. Service was attentive and friendly with the hallmark Samabe smiles all around. In between the courses, there was the Legong dance performance with a variety of dances and costumes that spoke of Balinese myths and legends. They were delivered by children and young adults. We were also invited to have a photo taken with the dancers at the end of the performance. What an excellent evening!
One of the best restaurants in the Sawangan area. I especially loved the variety of breakfast dishes.
The foods are delicious. Good service. And cozy place
